What is BookTok Pulse?

BookTok Pulse is a live ranking of books trending across the book community on YouTube and TikTok. Think of it as a Billboard chart for BookTok — instead of tracking sales or downloads, we track what independent creators are actually recommending.

Every day, our system watches hundreds of book review channels and identifies which titles are being talked about. When multiple creators independently recommend the same book, it rises in the rankings. The more voices behind a book, the higher its Pulse Score.

Why creator diversity matters

A book that surfaces across many independent creators is a fundamentally different signal than one promoted by a single large channel. That's the core idea behind BookTok Pulse: we measure community consensus, not individual influence.

Our rankings aren't driven by views, followers, or paid promotions. A small creator's recommendation counts just as much as a large one. This means the books that rise to the top are the ones the community is genuinely excited about.

How it works

We track what trusted book creators are recommending across YouTube and TikTok. Our system identifies book mentions, matches them to verified titles, and scores each book based on how many independent creators are discussing it.

Rankings update daily and are available across six genres: Fantasy, Romance, Mystery & Thriller, Horror, Literary Fiction, and Sci-Fi. You can browse what's trending this month or explore the all-time community favorites.
